Unified Activity
Timeline
The single view of
all activities allows you to get a complete understanding of your customers. Additionally,
users can now personalize interactions across Dynamics 365 Marketing, Sales,
and Customer Service. Sales and customer service agents use D365's unified
timeline to view their customers’ past activities, so they can personalize
engagement.
Now they can also
view real-time and outbound marketing activities with a new unified activity
timeline.
The following
reasons explain why you need this feature:
·
In the Dynamics 365 unified timeline, you can see both real-time and
outbound marketing activities.
·
Marketing-only activities can be searched for and filtered, such as
"All emails opened by Contact X."

New segment builder
Businesses looking
to improve marketing ROI (return on investment) need to ensure they target the
right audience. With the new segment builder, they can now effortlessly create
segments for contacts and leads using a simple drag-and-drop logic builder, without
knowing the complex data structures and logical operators.
Further, the
segment builder will enable you to build segments using leads, and later target
the leads directly using customer journeys for your demand generation
campaigns.
Steps to create a
segment in D365 Marketing
1. Set up your
segment with rules and subrules.
2. Select the
entity relationship path.
3. Keep track of
rules and subrules.
4. Using subrules,
add conditions and create the appropriate level of nesting.
5. Apply set
operations to rules that are connected.
6. Leverage the
attribute pane to add available entity attributes or to create attributes-based
conditions.
7. Add
attributes-based conditions to existing rules and subrules or add it to a new
rule.
8. Undo and redo
changes as you work on the segment.
The following
reasons explain why you need this feature:
- Segment your audience more precisely by
creating segments based on attribute data for contacts and leads.
- Discover and search across all attributes in
the right section and add them to your queries to enrich your segments
with more complex logic.
- As part of your segment creation process, you
should preview and estimate the number of segment members.
- Use natural language to intelligently assist
and ease your segment creation experience.

Automatic UTM Tagging
The Urchin Tracking
Module (UTM) uses automatic UTM tagging to measure marketing activity, web
traffic, and conversion goals. You can track traffic sources for your websites
and landing pages using UTM codes, allowing you to attribute conversions to the
correct source.
Despite being a
significant contributor to traffic, tracking marketing messages without UTM parameters
can be difficult. Because of the time-consuming process of manually adding tags
to each link, links in messages are often overlooked.
Adding UTM tagging
to your landing pages
Dynamic 365
Marketing will now automatically tag all links in messages with UTM parameters
based on a consistent taxonomy. This gives you complete visibility into your
marketing contribution to web traffic, allowing you to optimize traffic and
conversions.

Subscription Centre
The Subscription Centre
is a feature in Dynamics 365 Marketing that allows
recipients of marketing emails to manage their email preferences and
unsubscribe from email communications.
As all marketing
email messages create by using Dynamics 365 Marketing have to include a link to
a subscription centre. Latest subscription centre provides a web-based
interface where recipients can select which types of emails they wish to
receive, update their contact information, and unsubscribe from email
communications if they no longer wish to receive them.
The latest release
update to the subscription centre will now provide you the flexibility to
manage real-time marketing journeys while enabling you to have multiple
subscription centres customized and branded to your needs.
The following
reasons explain why you need this feature:
- Create a mailing list.
- Create a form for your subscription centre.
- Create a marketing page for the subscription centre.
- In the content settings, locate a subscription
centre.
- In a customer journey, select a content
settings record.
Businesses may need
to have more than one subscription centre to use outbound subscription centres
for real-time journeys.
Content Blocks
Dynamics 365 for
Marketing provides functionalities such as simple drag-and-drop design tools
for creating and managing multi-channel campaigns to generate leads for the
sales team.
By assembling rich,
consistent emails using these reusable content blocks, users can create emails
quickly and easily. The versatile content blocks can include all standard
elements, such as text, images, buttons, social media links, and custom layouts
and personalization.
In the latest
release, new and enhanced content blocks are now available in outbound and
real-time marketing.
Reusable Content
Blocks are pre-built design elements in Dynamics 365 Marketing that allows
users to define and store reusable blocks of content that are easy to add to
email and page designs. Create and customize email templates and landing pages
without having any design or coding skills. Users can simply drag and drop these
blocks into their templates and customize them to fit their brand and
messaging.
As an example, if
your marketing page has a stunning header, you can reuse it as a standard
design element.
The following
reasons explain why you need this feature:
- To create a content block (image) with a
banner
- To create content blocks (text) with dynamics
fields to personalize the mail
- To create a content block (text) with fields
required to be compliant (physical address and subscription centre link)

Pre-defined dynamic
text
In Dynamics 365
Marketing, the pre-defined dynamic text enables users to insert dynamic content
into emails and landing pages to further personalize them.
This dynamic
content can include things like the recipient's first name, company name, job
title, or other data points stored in the Dynamics 365 system. Users can choose
from a list of pre-defined dynamic text options or create their custom dynamic
text.
The pre-defined
dynamic text list may be different from what we have shown here.
With pre-defined dynamic text, it is easy to author personalized content without the need to understand the data model. Marketers who are familiar with the data model can create and share additional dynamic text so that the rest of the team can focus on authoring content rather than learning database concepts.
Conditional dynamic
content
Conditional dynamic
content is a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing feature that allows users
to show or hide certain content blocks based on specific conditions.
Allow you to craft
messages that align with your customer's interests and preferences, driving
engagement and brand loyalty.
For example, now
you will be able to create emails that display different content based on the
buyer's stage of the purchase and their actions. Using variations in
conditional dynamic content.
Custom Triggers
Custom triggers are
events that can be configured in Dynamics 365 Marketing to trigger automated
actions. Custom Triggers allow users to automate marketing actions based on
specific customer behaviours or events.
With passing
trigger parameters from a journey to a power Automate flow or to another
journey by easily populating the data for a custom trigger inside a
journey.
A custom trigger in a customer journey can contain and convey any type of information. For example, a user could set up a trigger to send an email to a customer who abandons their cart on their website or to send a follow-up email to a customer who opens a previous email.
Three steps to
create a trigger within a real-time marketing journey.
Step one: Creating
a trigger
Select "New
Trigger" from the top and follow the further instructions to give the
trigger a short descriptive title and enrich the trigger with additional
context for the journey using attributes and special attributes.
Step two: Integrate
the trigger
You can view and
use the code snippet by following the link given below.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/real-time-marketing-custom-triggers
Step three: Set up
a trigger
The trigger will be ready to use and available in the journey after it has been integrated. You can view all the information on the trigger page.
AI-based email marketing
In addition to its use in our daily
lives, artificial intelligence has also become an important tool in marketing, especially
for marketers who use email marketing to increase sales and brand
awareness.
In particular, AI has improved B2B
email marketing.
In the latest update of last year's AI-powered content ideas generator, users will find content snippets (based on key points provided) for inspiration. The generated content ideas can be reviewed, selected, and fine-tuned based on your requirements.
